A little walk through Sweden

The day started with sunshine and is about to end with sunshine too. On all levels. I wonder if there’s a connection? Food also has a lot to do with whether the sun is shining inside. When I get tired because I’ve run out of fuel, the darker thoughts come. So it’s important to have a full tank all the time. It’s not easy. It’s amazing how much you have to eat to keep your tank full. So it’s a balance between the weight of the bag and the weight of the soul.

Anyway, today the sun was high in the sky all day. The first person I saw and greeted greeted me back and asked if I needed some water. This kindness immediately added something to the tank and I got a new spring in my step. And that kind of set the tune for the whole day. It was Sunday and people were out and about and very friendly. Greeting and smiling and it just feels good. Gudrun in the ICA in Kinnared was very curious about my walk and the two young hosts at the burger restaurant ‘Valvet’ helped where they could by serving an extra portion of fries without charging for it, by filling up my water bottles and by letting me charge my things. There was as much kindness today as there was sun.

Poet Naomi Shihab Nye describes ‘the tender gravity of kindness’ – definitely adds a spring to our steps and helps lift body and soul – so lovely to read you are finding this ‘rocket fuel of the soul’ along your way Angelica. Beautiful spot to camp – enjoy today’s walking and wondering and we look forward to sharing today’s adventures. 🙂 xx
