I had the most enjoyable evening last night and it continued in the morning. Olov and little Arvid were the most enjoyable company, especially Arvid who talked non-stop about fishing. So I was in no hurry to say goodbye and get going. It wasn’t a very long stage ahead of me anyway. So we drank coffee and chatted for a long time. It was definitely the best shelter so far. And that’s saying something because they’re all so fantastic.
But off I went and I had a great day hiking through the forest. Almost no gravel roads. It was so good. And I was looking forward to finishing already in the middle of the afternoon.
Now the wind was blowing quite strong and cold, which I felt sometimes but was mostly protected from in the forest. But then I reached the loch, where this evening’s shelter was located. It was storming so hard that I had to hold on to my hat to keep it from blowing away. It was good that the shelter was perfectly positioned with the opening out of the wind. But alas, this windbreak didn’t live up to its name. The wind just blew straight through, so there was no protection at all. And the wind was so cold. I tried to light a fire because I thought it might work in the fire pit, but I immediately put it out again. It was simply too dangerous. Eventually I set up my tent inside the windbreak. Finally I got it warm and windless.
Tomorrow will be a long day. I have to make a small detour to a town to shop and eat pizza. So it will be an early night. Good night 😴!

It’s good to hear you’re into proper forest walking now and off the asphalt! Some days I wonder how far you walk – how many miles have you covered so far?
I walking between 10-20 miles per day. And so far I’ve probably covered around 430miles. Roughly.
